SAT Study Planners Compared: Which Tool Builds a Schedule Around Your Test Date?

Compare the study planners at OnePrep, UWorld, PrepScholar, Magoosh and ClassVal: what each says about test dates and missed days, as of October 2026.

A study plan only helps if it is built around your test date. OnePrep's study planner and ClassVal's Map build a schedule from your test date, UWorld's Study Planner builds one from your start and end dates and weekly hours, and PrepScholar and Magoosh describe weekly plans or sample schedules that, on the pages we read, are not said to be tied to a date. This post compares what each company's own site says about planning, as of October 2026, so you can pick one before you spend a week choosing.

A plan is more useful if it survives a missed day. Ask any tool: what happens when I skip a session or move my test date?

How We Compared These

ClassVal publishes this article, so read it with that in mind. We used public information as of October 2026: OnePrep's home, pricing and study planner pages, UWorld's Study Planner page and search listings, PrepScholar's SAT page, Magoosh's SAT page, and ClassVal's own product. We did not buy paid plans or test competitors ourselves, so this covers what each company says about itself.

We left out anything we could not confirm. We could not load Khan Academy's current Digital SAT help pages this run, so we say nothing here about whether Khan Academy offers a test-date schedule. Check its site directly. Where a feature is not described on a page, we say we could not find it, which is not the same as saying it does not exist. Plans and prices change, so confirm everything on each company's site.

What Each Tool Says About Planning

Planning features as described on each company's public pages, October 2026. Confirm on each site before you decide.
ToolWhat its pages describeWhat we could not find
OnePrepA study planner that takes your test date, target score and current level and builds a week-by-week schedule with daily sessions. Missed sessions can be rescheduled, and changing your test date rebuilds the calendar.Whether the planner sits on the free or Pro plan on its pricing page (its planner page says creating and following a plan is free with an account).
UWorldA Study Planner where you enter start and end dates and weekly study hours. It produces a daily, weekly and monthly schedule and says the plan adjusts if you miss a session.Whether the planner needs a paid course or account.
PrepScholarA personalized weekly study plan that follows a diagnostic test and updates as you progress.Whether the plan is built around your test date.
MagooshLinks to daily study schedules and a three-month schedule article.A schedule that is personalized to your test date.

OnePrep: Calendar Sync and Free-Account Planning

OnePrep's planner page says you can start by answering a few questions or by uploading your SAT score report, and that it builds daily sessions from its question bank. It says the planner takes your test date, target score and current level, and that changing your test date rebuilds the calendar without losing completed work. It says sessions shift toward your weakest skills, you can reschedule missed sessions, and you can connect Google Calendar. The page also says creating and following a plan is free with an account, while some premium practice content inside sessions needs OnePrep Pro. Both OnePrep and ClassVal offer Google Calendar connection, so calendar sync alone will not decide this one.

On OnePrep's pricing page, the Free tier lists 500 expert-written questions and one full-length practice test, and the Plus and Pro plans were listed as one-time prices with access through November 8, 2026. The page did not say which tier the planner belongs to, so check before you rely on it.

UWorld: You Set Your Hours

UWorld's Study Planner page asks for your start and end dates and your available study hours and days. It says the result is a daily, weekly and monthly schedule with practice tests, video lessons and targeted readings, plus a daily to-do list, and that the plan adjusts if you miss a session. That fits a student who wants to set their own weekly hours. The page did not state whether the planner requires a purchase, and mentions a free 7-day trial of the SAT course with no credit card. Check what the trial includes.

PrepScholar and Magoosh: Plans and Schedules

PrepScholar's SAT page describes a personalized study plan that maps out what to study each week after a diagnostic, and says it updates as you progress. The page lists the Complete Online SAT Prep program at $397 and a 5-day free trial, as of October 2026. We did not find wording that ties the plan to a specific test date.

Magoosh's SAT page links to "Daily Study Schedules" and a "Three Month SAT Study Schedule" article, and says there are other options for students with less than three months. We read these as published schedules you follow, not a plan we saw described as personalized to your date. We did not find pricing on the page we read.

ClassVal: The Map

ClassVal's Map lays out every session between today and your test date, names the week's focus, and rebuilds when you move, skip or outgrow a session. In the app, you pick your SAT date from upcoming official dates or enter your own, and changing it rebuilds the schedule. A missed session can be moved into recovery work, and the schedule includes rest days. The Today screen opens on one mission with your test countdown beside it.

As of October 2026, ClassVal's free plan includes the Map and The Lab, 35 adaptive practice questions a day and one full-length practice test, with no credit card required. Premium is $5.99 a month. The Map page also lets you connect Google Calendar or download an .ics file. ClassVal is Digital SAT only and runs in a browser rather than a phone app. We make no claim about how much any plan raises a score; that depends on the work you do.

Bluebook is the official test-day app, and College Board's practice tests are the closest thing to the real exam. A planner can tell you when to take one. It cannot replace one.

A 10-Minute Test Before You Commit

  1. Set your real test date. Use the date you registered for, not a hopeful one.
  2. Skip a day on purpose. See whether the plan moves the work or leaves a hole.
  3. Move the date two weeks. Check that the schedule rebuilds and your finished work stays.
  4. Check the plan's cost. Confirm what the free tier covers on the company's own page.
  5. Pick one and do today's session. A plan you open beats a better plan you do not.

FAQ: SAT Study Planners

Which SAT prep tool has a study planner?

As of October 2026, OnePrep and UWorld each have a planner page, and ClassVal's Map builds a schedule around your test date. PrepScholar and Magoosh describe weekly plans or sample schedules. Check each site for current details.

Is OnePrep's study planner free?

OnePrep's planner page says creating a plan and following the daily schedule is free with an account, with some premium content inside sessions needing Pro. Its pricing page did not say which tier includes the planner, so confirm there.

Does ClassVal's plan work if I miss days?

The Map is designed to rebuild when you skip or move a session, and missed work can be carried into recovery sessions. It cannot make up for weeks of not practicing.

Do I need a planner at all?

No. You can follow a simple weekly routine on paper. A planner helps if you tend to drift or if your test date moves.

Can a planner raise my score?

No tool can promise that. A plan helps you practice consistently, and the score follows from the work you do.
