A full-length practice test is one of the most useful things an SAT prep tool can offer, and the tools differ in how many they give you for free. College Board's Bluebook is the official free option. Several other tools list a free test, and some list none that we could find on the pages we read. This post lists what each company's own pages say, so you can decide where to spend your limited number of full tests.
A full-length test is a measurement, not a study session. Spend your free ones on measuring, and use everything else for fixing what the measurement shows.
How We Compared These
ClassVal publishes this article, so read it with that in mind. We compared tools using each company's public pages as of October 2026: College Board's Bluebook and Khan Academy pages, OnePrep's pricing page, Magoosh's SAT page, Princeton Review's free practice test page, UWorld's SAT page and PrepScholar's SAT pricing page. Features and counts change, so confirm everything on the company's own site.
We left out claims we could not confirm on a company's own page. Where a page does not state a number, we say so. Kaplan is not covered here. We do not rate teaching quality and we make no claim about score gains for any product.
Why the Number of Full Tests Matters
A full-length test is a long, timed sitting that resembles the real exam more than short practice sets do. It shows your stamina, your pacing across both modules, and which skills drop under time pressure. You can only take each test once with fresh eyes, so a supply of unseen tests is worth knowing about before you start.
Our guide linked below covers how many tests to take. This post only covers where free ones come from.
What the Free Options Offer
Here is what each company's pages state. A blank means the page we read did not say.
| Tool | Free full-length test? | What the page says about count |
|---|---|---|
| Bluebook (College Board) | Yes. College Board says full-length adaptive practice tests are available for free in Bluebook, and that full-length tests are scored | The pages we read did not state a count |
| Khan Academy (Official Digital SAT Prep) | Not stated. College Board says Official Digital SAT Prep itself is free | The page we read does not mention a count of full-length tests |
| OnePrep | Yes. The free plan lists 1 free full-length practice test | Plus (November SAT plan) lists 2; Pro lists 6 |
| Magoosh | Yes. Its page offers a free SAT practice test (length not stated) | The page we read gives no count for paid plans |
| Princeton Review | Yes. A free full-length test with an instant score report, free registration | Not stated. The page does not say whether it is adaptive |
| UWorld SAT | None listed on the page we read. Free offers are a 7-day course trial and 50 free practice questions | One pre-built score-predicting test, plus up to 9 adaptive tests you create from the question bank |
| PrepScholar | No separate free test on the page we read. A 5-day free trial is listed | Page says it includes 8 official SATs |
| ClassVal | Yes. The free plan includes 1 full-length test, no credit card | Premium ($5.99 a month) includes unlimited full-length tests |
Start With the Official Tests
If you only use one source, we would start with Bluebook. It is the app you will use on test day, so the interface, timing and question style match. College Board says full-length practice tests are scored and your results appear in My Practice after you finish. College Board also offers downloadable PDFs of full-length paper (nonadaptive) practice tests, which are a different format from the digital exam.
Official Digital SAT Prep on Khan Academy is free as well. College Board's page for it describes the course as free but does not give a test count, so we will not either.
We could not find a Bluebook test count on the College Board pages we read. Open Bluebook and count what you see before you plan around any figure.
What the Other Free Tests Add
An outside free test can serve as a second data point. OnePrep's free plan, Magoosh and Princeton Review each list a free test on their own pages. Princeton Review's page mentions an instant score report. We have not compared how closely each matches the real exam, so treat the result as one reading to weigh against your Bluebook score.
ClassVal's free plan includes one full-length test that follows the real adaptive structure: your Module 1 result decides whether Module 2 is easier or harder. Premium is listed with unlimited full-length tests. The free plan also includes 35 adaptive practice questions a day, which is a separate allowance from the full test.
Where Paid Tools Differ
UWorld lists one pre-built test plus up to nine you create, PrepScholar lists 8 official SATs, and OnePrep's paid plans list 2 or 6 tests. Their counts are in the table above, and their plan windows differ, so read each page before buying. Our pricing guide and our UWorld and PrepScholar comparisons, linked below, cover the details.
A Sensible Order to Take Them
| Stage | Which test | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Week 1 | An official Bluebook test | A trustworthy baseline in the real interface |
| Middle weeks | A free test from another tool, if you want a second reading | A different set of questions, no cost |
| Final 2 to 3 weeks | Another official Bluebook test | Checks whether your fixes carried over |
| Anytime | Review every test fully before the next | The learning is in the review, not the sitting |
Do not take tests back to back. Between sittings, spend your time on the skills the last test exposed. Our guides on reviewing a test and on practice-test mistakes cover how.
Who Should Choose What
- You want the most official practice for $0: Bluebook and Khan Academy. They are free and made with College Board.
- You want one more free test: try OnePrep's, Magoosh's or Princeton Review's free test, each listed on its own page.
- You want a plan built from your mistakes between tests: ClassVal's free plan has the Map and Lab, and one full test.
- You want a large paid library of timed tests: read UWorld's and PrepScholar's current plan pages first.
Your Next Step
Take one Bluebook test this week and review it before you open any other tool. The result tells you which free resource you need next.
FAQ: Free SAT Practice Tests
Where can I take a free full-length digital SAT practice test?
College Board's Bluebook is the official place. OnePrep and ClassVal list a free full-length test, Princeton Review lists a free full-length SAT practice test, and Magoosh lists a free SAT practice test, all on their own pages as of October 2026.
Are free SAT practice tests as good as paid ones?
Bluebook tests come from College Board, who write the SAT. For third-party tests, we cannot say how closely each matches the real exam, and we do not rate them.
How many Bluebook practice tests are there?
The College Board pages we read did not state a number. Open Bluebook and check the list inside the app.
Does ClassVal give a free full-length test?
Yes. The free plan includes 1 full-length test, plus 35 adaptive practice questions a day, with no credit card. Premium is $5.99 a month and removes the limits.
Can I take the same practice test twice?
You can, but the second sitting is less reliable as a measurement because you remember questions. Save repeat sittings for review, and use a new test for a fresh score.
