ClassVal vs Test Ninjas: A 251-Lesson SAT Course With a Guarantee, or a Free Daily Plan?

Test Ninjas sells an SAT course with 20 practice tests and a conditional 100-point guarantee; ClassVal is free to start, then $5.99 a month. As of Oct 2026.

Test Ninjas and ClassVal are both Digital SAT prep tools, but they are built differently. ClassVal has a free plan; Test Ninjas offers a 7-day free trial. Test Ninjas sells a structured SAT course with 20 full-length practice tests and a conditional money-back guarantee; ClassVal is a free daily-practice tool with a $5.99-a-month upgrade and no guarantee. Which fits depends on whether you want a course to work through or a routine to keep.

If a guarantee is part of your reason to buy, read its conditions before the feature list. They decide whether the guarantee applies to you.

ClassVal publishes this post, so read it with that in mind. We describe Test Ninjas only from what its own site says, we date each claim, and where Test Ninjas is the better fit we say so. Prices and terms change, so confirm everything on test-ninjas.com before you pay.

How We Compared These

ClassVal is the publisher of this post. The Test Ninjas details come from its home page, its SAT page, its purchase page and its money-back guarantee page, which we read in October 2026. The ClassVal details come from our own product and Premium page. We did not buy or test any Test Ninjas plan, so this post covers what Test Ninjas says it includes, not how well it works.

If we could not find something on Test Ninjas' site, we say so. That is not the same as saying Test Ninjas lacks it.

What Test Ninjas Says It Offers for the SAT

As of October 2026, Test Ninjas' SAT page lists these items in its Digital SAT plan:

  • 20 full-length practice tests, solved by tutors (its home page calls them adaptive and "Bluebook-perfect")
  • A 251-lesson course, described as 160+ hours of instruction
  • 3,000 practice questions and 433 problem sets
  • 467-page Reading & Writing and 425-page Math study guides
  • Time-per-question pacing analytics
  • A 100-point money-back guarantee, with conditions

Its SAT page shows two billing options: $39 for one month, or $29 a month billed as $87 every 3 months. Each starts with a 7-day free trial with $0.00 due today, and the page says you will not be charged if you cancel before the trial ends. Its purchase page showed "Loading prices" for some plans when we read it, so check the live price before you rely on these numbers.

What ClassVal Offers

ClassVal is free to start. A free account gets 35 practice questions a day and one full-length adaptive test, plus the Map (a daily plan built from your results), the Lab (where a missed question waits until you answer it correctly) and a score estimate. The estimate is an estimate, not a prediction.

Premium costs $5.99 a month and lifts the free limits, with a skill-by-skill breakdown and unlimited Coach chat. You can cancel anytime, and Premium stays on to the end of the month you paid for. ClassVal covers the Digital SAT only and has no live tutoring. It has no guarantee of any kind.

Test Ninjas' Guarantee, Read Plainly

Test Ninjas' SAT page says: "If your official score doesn't beat your baseline by 100, we refund your most recent payment." Its guarantee page lists the conditions. As of October 2026 they include:

  • You bought a Premium membership on or after November 1, 2025.
  • You have an official Digital SAT score report from before you bought, and that starting score is 1250 or below.
  • During the membership, you complete 100% of the SAT course lessons and submit 5 of the 20 full-length practice tests inside Test Ninjas.
  • You sit another official Digital SAT during your active membership window.
  • The refund covers your most recent Premium payment only, and the page says only one refund is allowed per account, ever.

The page says to claim by email with your official score report and a dashboard screenshot. It lists no filing deadline that we could find. Read the full page yourself, because the starting-score cap and the lesson requirement mean the guarantee will not apply to every buyer. A student who starts above 1250, or who does not finish every lesson, is outside it.

Where Test Ninjas May Be the Better Pick

  • You want a full course. A 251-lesson course and 20 listed full-length tests is much more structured content than ClassVal offers.
  • You want many full-length tests. ClassVal's free plan includes one.
  • You want a guarantee and can meet its conditions. That means a starting score of 1250 or below, finishing every lesson, 5 of the 20 tests, and an official retake that beats your baseline by 100. ClassVal offers none.
  • You want ACT, AP or PSAT prep in the same place. ClassVal covers the Digital SAT only.

Where ClassVal May Be the Better Pick

  • You want to start free. 35 questions a day and a full-length test cost nothing, with no trial clock.
  • You would rather practice than watch lessons. ClassVal is built around daily questions, the Lab and the Map.
  • You want a lower monthly price. $5.99 a month is a smaller bill than the Test Ninjas SAT prices we read, though the two products are not the same size.
  • You do not need a guarantee. If you are above 1250, or will not finish a whole course, the Test Ninjas guarantee would not apply to you.

The official Bluebook app also has free full-length practice, and you can use it next to either tool.

What We Could Not Verify

  • Whether Test Ninjas has a free SAT tier. The pages we read describe a free trial, not a free plan. We also did not check its "adaptive" and "Bluebook-perfect" descriptions.
  • Current live prices, since its purchase page showed "Loading prices" for some plans.
  • Its +160-point average-gain claim, which we did not check and do not repeat as fact. ClassVal makes no score-gain claims.
  • How the lessons, tests or analytics perform. We did not test them.

A Four-Step Way to Choose

  1. Know your official starting score. If your official Digital SAT score is above 1250, the Test Ninjas guarantee does not apply to you.
  2. Try ClassVal's free plan first. Start a Test Ninjas trial only if you want a course, and check on its page whether a card is needed.
  3. Put the trial end date in your calendar. Test Ninjas says to cancel before day 8 and you are never charged.
  4. Pay only for a limit you hit. Check the price and terms on the company's page before you enter a card.

Does Test Ninjas have a money-back guarantee?

Is Test Ninjas better than ClassVal?

It depends. Test Ninjas lists far more lessons and full-length tests, plus a conditional guarantee. ClassVal is a cheaper, free-to-start daily-practice tool. We have not tested Test Ninjas, so try ClassVal's free plan or a Test Ninjas trial before you pay.

Can I use both?

Yes. Nothing stops you from following a course for concepts and using a daily-practice tool for drills. Pay for only one at a time unless a limit is slowing you down.
