ClassVal vs OnePrep: A One-Time Pass or a Monthly Plan for Your SAT Date?

Compare ClassVal and OnePrep on pricing model, free tier, practice tests, and AI help, using public information as of October 2026. Pick by your test date.

ClassVal and OnePrep are both digital SAT practice platforms with a free tier. The biggest practical difference is how you pay: OnePrep sells one-time passes tied to a test date, and ClassVal is a monthly plan you can cancel anytime. Which is cheaper depends on how many months you actually need.

Count the months until your SAT. That number is the biggest factor in which pricing model fits you better.

ClassVal publishes this page, so read it with that in mind. We only describe OnePrep using what its own website says, we date every claim, and where OnePrep is the better fit we say so. Prices change often, so confirm everything on OnePrep's site before you pay.

How We Compared These

ClassVal is the publisher of this post. The OnePrep details below come from OnePrep's public website (its home page and pricing page), which we read in October 2026. The ClassVal details come from our own product and Premium page. We have not paid for or tested OnePrep's plans, so we describe what the company says it includes, not how well it works.

If we could not find something on OnePrep's site, we say we could not find it. That is not the same as saying OnePrep lacks it.

What OnePrep Says It Offers

As of October 2026, OnePrep's pricing page lists a free plan and two paid plans, labeled for the November SAT. Its home page describes a Digital SAT question bank, full-length adaptive practice tests, AI explanations, and a study planner, along with separate ACT and AP resources.

  • Free plan ($0): an AI tutor called Preppy with 10 orbs per week, limited SAT practice questions, 1 full-length practice test, and 1 question rush session. The page says no credit card is required.
  • Plus ($115, one-time): 4,902 SAT practice questions, 2 full-length tests, 3 question rush sessions per week, and 50 orbs per week. The page says "pay once, no subscription."
  • Pro ($131.66, one-time): the same SAT question bank plus 6 full-length tests, 639 challenge questions, unlimited question rush, unlimited orbs, and advanced analytics.

The pricing page also lists ACT and AP content on its plans. This post only covers the SAT, because ClassVal is built for the Digital SAT.

What ClassVal Offers

ClassVal is free to start with no credit card. A free account gets 35 practice questions a day and one full-length adaptive test, plus your Map (a daily plan that rebuilds around your results), the Lab (where missed questions wait until you answer them correctly), and a score estimate.

Premium is $5.99 a month. It removes the daily question limit and the full-length test limit, adds a skill-by-skill breakdown and session summaries, and gives unlimited Coach chat on a stronger model. You can cancel anytime, and Premium stays on through the end of the month you paid for.

The Real Question: How Many Months Do You Need?

A one-time pass and a monthly plan have a break-even point: the month at which the monthly total equals the one-time price. Work out where it falls for you.

At $5.99 a month, ClassVal Premium totals less than OnePrep's listed Plus price for the first 19 months of paying, and less than Pro's price for the first 21 months. That arithmetic uses only the two listed prices. Keep in mind that OnePrep's pricing page labels Plus and Pro for the November SAT and shows access through November 8, 2026, so the break-even matters most if you are planning a longer runway. If your test is this November, a pass matched to that date may be all you need, and the free tiers are worth trying first.

Price is not the only factor, though. A one-time pass is simple, with nothing to remember to cancel, and OnePrep's paid plans include more full-length tests and a larger listed question bank than a free account. If you want a big bank for a single focused push, that has real value.

Which pricing model tends to fit which situation. A judgment call, not a verified fact about either company.
Your situationPricing model that may fit
Test in under a month, one short pushEither free tier first; decide after you see your first score
2 to 4 months of steady daily practiceA monthly plan lets you pay only while you use it
You want a pass that is set once and never renewedA one-time pass, if the access dates on the plan match your test date
You might stop and restartMonthly, since you can cancel anytime

Where OnePrep May Be the Better Pick

  • You also need ACT or AP prep. OnePrep lists ACT and AP content. ClassVal covers the Digital SAT only.
  • You want a large, fixed question bank and a set number of full-length tests. OnePrep lists 4,902 SAT questions and up to 6 full-length tests on Pro.
  • You prefer paying once. A one-time pass avoids a recurring charge.
  • You want to keep paying nothing. Both have free tiers, and OnePrep's free plan includes a full-length test, as does ClassVal's.

Where ClassVal May Be the Better Pick

  • You want a plan that changes with your results. The Map rebuilds each day around what you missed and your test date.
  • You want missed questions to keep coming back. The Lab holds a missed question until you answer it right.
  • You want to pay month by month. Cancel anytime and keep Premium to the end of the paid month.
  • You want the free tier to be enough to judge the product. You can use 35 questions a day before deciding.

You do not have to choose only one. Official Bluebook practice tests are free from College Board, and either tool can sit alongside them.

What We Could Not Verify

  • OnePrep's home page says "more than 4,000" SAT questions, while its pricing page lists 4,902. We use the pricing page figure.
  • OnePrep's pricing page labels a plan with a money-back guarantee and describes a score-improvement guarantee whose full terms sit on a separate page. We did not review those terms, so read them on OnePrep's site if guarantees matter to you.
  • The Pro plan shows an access end date that is not consistent across the page, so check the exact date at checkout.
  • We did not test how well either product works. We describe what each company says its plans include.

A Five-Step Way to Choose

  1. Write down your SAT date and count the months.
  2. Open both free tiers and complete one session in each.
  3. Notice which one tells you what to do tomorrow without you deciding.
  4. Only pay if you hit a free limit that is actually slowing you down.
  5. Confirm the price, access dates and terms on the company's own page before you pay.
