ClassVal vs. OnePrep: How the Free Tiers and Paid Plans Actually Differ

Comparing ClassVal and OnePrep for the Digital SAT: what each free tier includes, how paid plans are priced, and who each fits. Facts as of October 2026.

ClassVal and OnePrep are both online Digital SAT practice platforms with a free tier, but they limit that free tier in different ways and price the paid tier in different ways. ClassVal caps free practice at a daily number of questions and charges monthly. OnePrep gives a free allowance that renews weekly and sells one-time plans with a fixed access window. Which fits depends on how you study.

We publish ClassVal, so read this with that in mind. Every OnePrep detail below comes from OnePrep's own pages, checked in October 2026; the free-alternatives section links to outside sources. Prices and limits change, so confirm on their site before you pay for anything.

Before paying for any SAT tool, use its free tier for a week. The free tier tells you whether you will actually open the app tomorrow.

How We Compared These

ClassVal is the publisher of this post, which makes us an interested party. To keep the comparison fair, we used only each company's public information. For OnePrep, that means its pricing page, its home page, and its own "best SAT prep" page, all read in October 2026. For ClassVal, we used our own product and Terms.

Where we could not find something on OnePrep's site, we say so instead of guessing. "We couldn't find it" is not the same as "they don't have it." OnePrep's own pages also disagree with each other in a couple of places, and we flag those.

What the Two Free Tiers Include

OnePrep's pricing page lists its free plan at $0 with no credit card required. It shows 20 "orbs" to start plus 10 more per week, 500 free expert-written questions, and 1 free full-length practice test. We couldn't find a plain-language definition of orbs on the pricing or home page, so check OnePrep's help center to see exactly what an orb pays for.

One discrepancy: OnePrep's separate "best SAT prep" page describes a 4,000+ question bank that is "free to start." The pricing page, which is the more specific one, lists 500 free questions and puts 4,000+ on the paid plans. Treat the pricing page as the more cautious reading and confirm inside the product.

ClassVal's free tier is built around a daily limit instead. Free accounts get 35 adaptive questions a day, plus a full-length practice test, the Map (a daily plan that rebuilds from your results), the Lab (which keeps missed questions in rotation), and a score estimate. Premium removes the daily limit.

How the Paid Plans Are Priced

This is the biggest structural difference. ClassVal Premium is $5.99 per month and you can cancel through your account settings. It includes unlimited practice sessions, a per-domain and skill-by-skill breakdown, unlimited Coach chat, and priority support.

OnePrep's pricing page lists two paid plans as one-time payments with no subscription, tied to an access window. Plus is $89 with access through November 8, 2026. Pro is $99 with access through November 8, 2026. The page labels both for the November SAT. We found no listed prices for later test dates, so if your test is after November 8, check what OnePrep offers for it.

The same page also shows other price figures, including "From $29/month" in a headline and a comparison-table figure, and it offers 1, 3, 6, and 12 month options without listing their prices. We cannot reconcile those numbers from the page alone, so we are not quoting a single "OnePrep price" beyond the two plan prices above.

Where OnePrep Is the Better Fit

  • You want to pay once and your test is soon. If a monthly charge bothers you, a one-time plan with a clear end date is simpler to budget. This is a narrow fit: the listed windows end November 8, 2026, so it only works if your test falls inside one.
  • You are also preparing for ACT or AP. OnePrep's home page says it serves Digital SAT, ACT, and AP students. ClassVal is built specifically for the Digital SAT and does not cover the ACT.
  • You want a large, fixed pool of questions. OnePrep's pricing page lists 4,000+ expert-written questions on its paid plans and, on Pro, 300+ challenge questions and a Masterclass.
  • You want a stated score guarantee. OnePrep's pricing page says: "Don't gain 200+ points on your official SAT? Full refund if you meet every requirement." The requirements include uploading a starting score and sitting an official SAT within 60 days of the subscription ending. Read their full terms first.

Where ClassVal Is the Better Fit

  • You want a low monthly price and no access deadline. $5.99 a month is the lowest monthly price we could verify for either tool, and you can stop when you are done. OnePrep's page also mentions monthly options we could not price, so compare current numbers.
  • You want daily structure. The Map rebuilds a daily plan around your test date and your results, and the Lab keeps missed questions in rotation until you can answer them again.
  • You like a predictable daily habit. ClassVal's free cap is a plain number, 35 adaptive questions a day. OnePrep's orb cost per question isn't listed on its pricing page, so we can't compare the two allowances question for question.
  • You want a refund tied to your Map. ClassVal Premium's refund guarantee requires completing your Map through your test date, and if your official score does not go up, the Premium payments for that period are refunded. Conditions are on our Terms page. We cannot promise a score.

Both guarantees have conditions. Read each one before you rely on it.

Free Alternatives You Should Know About

Neither tool is the only route. Bluebook, College Board's testing app, includes official full-length practice tests for free, and it is the closest thing to the real test interface. Khan Academy's Official Digital SAT Prep is also free. See our ClassVal vs. Khan Academy page for how those two relate.

A sensible low-cost setup is Bluebook for periodic full-length tests and one daily-practice tool for the days between. That daily tool can be ClassVal, OnePrep, or another.

  1. Day 1. Create free accounts on both. Do a similar short set of questions on each. OnePrep's orb cost per question isn't listed on its pricing page, so track how many orbs a session uses.
  2. Days 2 to 6. Study 20 to 30 minutes a day on whichever you open more willingly.
  3. Day 7. Ask yourself which one you actually kept opening and which explained your misses more clearly. ClassVal's full skill breakdown is a Premium feature, so judge on what each free tier shows you. Pay for neither unless you want more of it.

FAQ: ClassVal vs. OnePrep

Is OnePrep free?

OnePrep has a free plan. As of October 2026, its pricing page lists $0, no credit card, 20 orbs plus 10 more per week, 500 free questions, and 1 full-length practice test. Its marketing pages describe a larger free question bank, so confirm the current allowance in the product.

Is ClassVal free?

Yes. Free accounts get 35 adaptive questions a day, a full-length practice test, the Map, the Lab, and a score estimate. Premium is $5.99 per month and removes the daily limit.

Which is cheaper, ClassVal or OnePrep?

It depends on your test date. OnePrep's listed Plus ($89) and Pro ($99) plans run through November 8, 2026, and we found no listed prices for later dates. ClassVal Premium is $5.99 a month and you can cancel in settings. Compare current prices for your own timeline.

Do ClassVal or OnePrep guarantee a higher score?

Neither can promise a score. Both publish a refund guarantee with conditions. OnePrep's is tied to a 200+ point gain with listed requirements. ClassVal's is tied to completing your Map and your official score not going up. Read each company's full terms.

Should I still take Bluebook practice tests?

Yes. Bluebook is the official testing app and its practice tests are free, so use them as checkpoints no matter which practice platform you choose.
